Morning thoughts

Good morning!

Here's a picture of what has come to be my every day breakfast this summer. I often turn into a habit individual, so I like knowing what I'm going to have everyday. This is also good because since I am so crazy once I get back to school,  already knowing what works for breakfast everyday saves me a lot of time. I actually timed myself this morning and it took me under 5 minutes to toast my bread, make my tea, and cut up the banana. (Thank you Keurig for your existence). I even washed the measuring cup I used for my milk.

Well back go the main reason of my post. I am leaving tomorrow to go back to school for dance camp. Where did the summer go?!  I truly had such a great summer. It may not have gotten off to the smoothest start but I definitely think I will look back at it and be pleased.

I started off the summer by celebrating my daddy's 60th birthday. He is the definition of the greatest dad out there. The summer then progressed into celebrating mommy's birthday! (Our family's birthdays are 4 months in a row-- April, May, June, and July.)  June was also a big month for my little sister (I'll call her Little J. Hellooooo Gossip Girl!)  Little J graduated from high school! It was also my alma mater so that was a big deal. June was filled with some concerts, beach days, and catching up with friends!  Then July rolled around. HELLO BIRTHDAY MONTH.  We started off July by taking a family vacation to Ocean City, Maryland. I also got to celebrate the big birthday-- 21!! It was one of the best birthdays I've ever had. After I turned 21, I was finally able to go out and enjoy some night life!  I love to just go out and dance so it was nice to finally be able to go places.  As August approached, I started having some of my "lasts" and seeing family and friends for a final time before I return to school. I am going back to school super content with my summer and ready to start a great year!

What are you looking forward to this school year?!

Playing Catch Up

Hello bloggers!  So sorry it's been so long since I've posted. These past few weeks have been so busy since turning twenty one!  I've had tons of dinners and fun things going on.

I spoke about going to see Kelly and Michael, and celebrating my friend Kristen's 21st birthday. That Thursday two friends and I went out to this lounge called Z Two. It was so much fun!! The next morning I had to get up very early to go to the beach with my mom, sister, and some of her friends.  That Saturday I went down to my house at school and painted my room with my mom and dad!  My dad is a pro painter, he seriously is so talented at whatever he does. (Cooking and crafting are at the top!). I chose a light green for my room. I definitively lightens up the room and is something different than I'm used to. It also matches all of my sorority things :)

Two days after that I drove down to school again for some internship meetings. I have an internship settled for the fall and hopefully one for the spring!  I felt so accomplished going down to school and attending all of these meetings. This summer really has been so good for me.

The next night my 5 best friends and I had dinner with our high school college advisor. We became super close with her on our senior trip to Disney world, and we've been having dinners with her since we graduated. We decided to give our dinner an Italian theme, and each brought an Italian dish. It was so great catching up!  This past Saturday my mom, sister, and I attended my mom's old neighborhood reunion in Brooklyn. This was the 4th year and its always a good time!  It's so nice seeing my mom catch up with her friends that she grew up with.

Now begins my last week of summer before I return to school for dance camp. I really can't believe I'm going to be starting my senior year!! Wasn't I just moving into my freshman year dorm?  I've learned so much being away at school and I wouldn't change it for the world. This summer has also been a big learning experience for me, and I can't wait to take it with me and start my senior year strong.

There are so many things I'm looking forward to this year, and I can't wait to get started!

What are you looking forward to this year?

My Manicure

I'm usually not the best at doing my nails, but after dinner I did my nails and I think they came out pretty good!  Just had to share :)

What do you think?

It's Live!!!

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of waking up at 4:30 am.

Why you ask?  Because my mom, sister, and I were going to see Live with Kelly and Michael!!!!  My mom and had both applied to get tickets and two weeks ago my mom got a letter with a confirmation ticket. We were so excited!  So we woke up at 4:30, drove to the bus stop and took a 5:40 express bus. We got off at 42nd and 6th and walked to Times Square to take a train up to the studio in Columbus Circle. We got there around 6:30 and right on line. The doors opened at 7:45 and then we were let to wait inside until 8:30. At 8:30 we were finally allowed into the studio!!! We got great seats.

It was so awesome to watch a live taping. Kelly and Michael are so nice in person and so friendly!! We got to watch the live taping for Tuesday and then they taped some segments for another day. It was such a great experience!

After lunch we met up with my friend Kim and her mom. Kim and I danced together when we were very little and Kim moved when we were young too. Once we were both in the Facebook world, we connected again! (See, Facebook is good for something!). We had our first reunion the winter of our freshman year. Since then we have taken a swing dance class together, and met up in the city while I was interning last summer. We hadn't seen each other for a year but keep in touch through texting. Kim and I share an obsession for Lauren Conrad, and we both have blogs now!  So we always have something to talk about. Kim even inspired me to try spinning!  It's crazy to think that a friendship that began through dance at the age of 4, was put on pause, but now live again!

For lunch we met in Times Square and had lunch at The Counter. It was so yummy!  Their big thing is burgers. So I got a veggie burger over a salad. Kim's mom suggested to get an appetizer of Parmesan fries. Now these were AMAZING!! What a great decision.

That night I came home to celebrate a long-time friend, Kristen's 21st birthday. We went to a Mexican restaurant called Jose Tejas in Woodbridge, NJ which isn't too far from us. I've been there a couple of times before, but this was the first time I was able to legally drink!! The atmosphere is so fun, so it was a great dinner. We went back to Kristen's house for cake and to play Minion Monopoly. (She's a huge Despicable Me fan). It was such a fun time.

 My Frozen Strawberry Margarita!

Tuesday was such a busy, fun-filled day.  I love days like this!

Now today is August!!! Which means school is around the corner. I have so much to get ready!

What are you looking forward to in August?
